The fight over wolf hunting in Michigan continues despite a state plan to put wolf hunt licenses on sale Saturday. Opponents are claiming the hunt is based on politics rather than science and that the livestock damage claims are trumped-up.
Meanwhile State Sen. Tom Casperson, R-Escanaba, says the 43 kill tags being issued will not be enough, according to a story on MLive today. Read more: Michigan wolf hunt.

I have no plans on applying for a wolf tag but I hope the people of MIchigan would wake up and vote out what the HSUS is trying to push. I don’t think anyone in the LP should have any say as to waht goes on with the wolves in the UP. The people up there have to deal with them not us.

The reality is that If those that are opposed to a limited hunt get their way the number of illegal wolf killings will skyrocket. That means a whole lot more than 43 wolves being shot in the following season. Agree with it or not that is simply what I see happening. A limited hunt as seen in Wisconsin and Minnesota is would be the best outcome for all parties including the wolves.
