Outside Magazine’s online Adventure Advisor conferred honors on the state today. It named the 20-mile “Tunnel of Trees” route along M-119, between Harbor Springs and Cross Village, as one of the three best bike routes in the Midwest.
I’ve ridden the route and it is beautiful, worthy of a day ride and a weekend riding in the area. It’s hilly, twisty, scenic and good fun. I am not sure why the magazine would choose to illustrate the bike route with this beautiful photo of Little Traverse Bay, but Pure Michigan Travel gurus ought to be crowing.
