Michigan’s ban on wild pigs takes effect

This has been a long time coming and while certain hunting ranch owners are not happy, it is good news for Michigan and about time. Experts from around the country have come to Michigan and explained the problems that exist as a result of having feral swine running wild on the landscape. They spread disease to domestic livestock and root up the environment. Michigan’s wildlife chief called them “Asian carp with four feet.” The new rules went into effect on April 1, 2012.  Michigan’s ban on wild pigs takes effect today
